Meet Mrs. Sullivan

Hello upcoming 4th graders!  I am very excited to meet you.  I have been thinking about what our classroom theme is going to be this year and I have decided we are going to "Read around the World".  We will be reading stories about people from other countries.  We will learn about their customs, culture and history.  We will also be interacting with other people around the globe through our year long post card exchange and pen pal school.

A bit about myself:  I have been teaching at Hannan for 9 years.  This will be my 7th year teaching in the magnet program.  I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist.  I have an endorsement to teach Gifted and Talented students. I love all of the subject areas but I am most passionate about discussing the hidden meanings in literature. I also love the art of creative writing and inspiring my students to think outside the box.

I am married to Jon Sullivan who works at AFLAC and I have two children.  Kaleigh is a junior at Brenau University and pitches for their softball team.  My son, Kyle is a junior at Columbus High School and enjoys the swim team and playing the trumpet.  In my spare time I love learning new things by reading books and travelling.
